Wrath

Here is another finished piece, Wrath. Wrath was one of the most enjoyable pieces as I got to paint with fury and intensity. I chose to sew on a broken chain to symbolize the beast of anger breaking through. I used reds and oranges to portray anger within color rather than images.

Any comments or feedback are greatly appreciated!

Gluttony

Another finished piece, Gluttony! Here is a simple description of this piece: In Gluttony, I portray the excessive nature of the sin with a hint of ambiguity. Although I have a solid image in the left-hand side, I focus on the abstraction in the thick, saturated colors that symbolize a feast of over-indulgence.
If you have any questions about this piece, or any of my other work, feel free to contact me! Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Pride

Here is the first finished piece in my series. This painting is Pride. Here is a quick overview of the painting: With Pride I became a perfectionist in executing every line and paint stroke. The crown and largest mirror dominate the piece to represent the competitive nature of a prideful person to be the most beautiful object in comparison to others.
Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated!

Portfolio Review Day

So, I am starting this blog in preparation for the Junior/Senior Portfolio Review at St. Ambrose on April 30. I am showing off my current work, The Seven Deadly Sins. I am also interested in getting my work outside of my studio and into the hands of my friends/family/future commissioners. I don't know much about this blog stuff, so it may be a few days before I get some images up.
